Mrs. Luck said that she thinks technology will definitely continue to
grow in the classroom. She said there are good and bad aspects to learning.
Mrs. Schapp said she was excited for the school to continue to have
more technology in the classroom.

Yes – Amy Martz, the principle

No – They say that they don’t have enough time to keep up a blog or
facebook page.

Yes – Mrs. Schaap

Do
all the classrooms have computers in them? Explain what you find:
Yes – There are at least one or two computers in each classroom. One
for the teachers to use and the other is for the students if it is needed.

there a computer lab/s? If
so how is it used and by whom?
Yes – There are two computer labs at the school. Soon they are going to
have an Ipad lab. It is used by all the students at different times and used to
learn how to use the computers or Ipads. They also use some programs for their
lessons and school projects.
10. What kinds of computers are in the school –
PC’s, Laptops, Mac’s etc.? Overhead projection equipment etc.:
PC’s and one or two laptops, overhead projectors, Ipads, Smart boards,
document camera, microphones, digital cameras, and soon they will have
Itouches.
11. What software programs are regularly used
by teachers?
Testing programs, Microsoft office tools, kids inspiration, and others
that the teachers couldn’t remember at the moment.
12. Can/do teachers use the Internet in their
instruction? Detail findings.
Yes they can use the internet – They use websites like UEN,
starfall.com, nlvm.com which is a Utah State program. They are interactive
websites used by the students and they can research also.
13. How does a teacher get further training to
use technology?
Yes – When they get a new technology they usually get a two hour
training session.
14. See if you can get a sense of the % of
students who might have a computer in their home:
I
would say at the most probably 90% of the kids how some kind of computing
device like a computer.
15. Did you observe students using computer
based technology? If so detail what
you observed:
Yes – Ipads, computers, and the document camera. The students were
learning how to use an Ipad and using the computer to see they websites the
teacher was talking about. Also, a student was using the document viewer in
class to show their assignment.

a.
Mrs.
Luck said that she feels technology gets in the way of teaching sometimes
because she doesn’t know how to work it and it takes too long to figure it out.
Or it takes to long to look something up.
b.
Students
know more about technology than some teachers do and that could cause students
to be “more advanced”.
c.
Technology
has made it easy for students to get what they want when they want it,
therefore it’s hard to keep their attention without technology.
d.
The
use of microphones makes it easier for teachers to talk over students and make
their voice louder. Yet, it also raises the voices of all the students.
