How much of an effect do you think technology is going to have on education in the next 20 years? What effect is it having on us now? Do you think it will change the way we teach our students? Or do you think we will stick to tradtitional teaching methods?
I think that technology is going to have a huge effect within the next 20 years. Technology is growing faster and faster and year after year more people are using it. Right now technology has a huge effect as well as like I said more people are using it and new innovations in technology keep coming out. I think that slowly it will affect the way we teach our students but it will take awhile to get out of old habits. Also many states are stuck with hardly any money to spend on education so it will take awhile for them to have advanced technologies in the classroom. There will also always be people who will disapprove of technology in the classrooms and try to stop it from happening.
ReplyDeleteI think that in the next 20 years technology is going to take over whether we want it to or not. It would be very hard to stick to strictly traditional teaching methods in this day in age although I would hate to see them go away completely. I would like to see a balance of both in the classroom.It already has a great effect on us in school today. It is how we research to do our homework and learn new things. I think it is very important that we as teachers understand that and use it to our advantage.
ReplyDeleteTechnology is going to have a major effect in the classroom over the next twenty years. YOu look at the classroms today and there are students using the internet and using laptops and phone and ipads and all sorts of things that when I was starting school we did n't use as often. When I was in elementary school we had one computer lab until I was in 4th grade. Technology is influencing the way we learn and communicate everyday and it is influencing how we overall live in todays society. And because it is constantly changing how we live our lives we must keep up with that change and so as teachers we need to be aware of how our students are growing up in new technological world that we are adding to our knowledge from. So we need to incorporate this constant change in technology into our classroom into what we still teach so that our students are prepared for what they are seeing outside the classroom.
ReplyDeleteLike the others have said, it will be HUGE. It's fun and efficient, thus it makes sense for schools to integrate technology into their learning environments. Although it's already begun, there were certainly be more widespread and tested methods of using technology to tech over time. Should be an exciting time to be a teacher!
ReplyDeleteI think that technology is already changing how students are taught. Part of this has to do with attention span: in an age of fast-paced information, people have more trouble paying attention to one thing for long. Thus, even in more traditional teaching methods, we have to account for the influence of technology on the way that students think, reason, and react.
